Join Moab Museum in celebrating Heritage Breeds Week as they showcase unique heritage breeds integral to the history, present, and future of agriculture in Southeastern Utah. On Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 11 am and 2 pm, meet the fascinating Sulphur Herd – Colonial Spanish Horses on the Museum Lawn, presented by Canyonlands Back Country Horsemen of Utah members Stephen Schultz, Naomi Wilson, and Melissa Wardle.

Discover the history and significance of Utah’s Sulphur Herd, believed to be one of the purest herds of Spanish horses in America. These remarkable horses have thrived for centuries with minimal outside influence in the remote juniper-covered valleys of Utah’s Mountain Home Range.
