This piece has a profound connection to McDuffie; he commissioned Glass to compose it, subsequently premiering and recording the masterpiece. Often termed “the American Vivaldi,” Glass reinterpreted this piece in a chamber version exclusively for McDuffie. This concert also includes a touch of nuevo tango with Astor Piazzolla’s “Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.” A unique feature of this concert is each season being depicted by a different violinist.
